We have the new Twizzlers Gummies, and the Twizzlers Sweet and Sour Filled Twists. And how many more times can I say Twizzlers in this paragraph?

A History of Twizzlers
Believe it or not, Twizzlers dates all the way back to 1845, when the company Young & Smylie invented these twisted treats. The company’s early years were spent experimenting and focusing on licorice-based candies. Since Licorice root was used for centuries and very popular, they created candies such as Licorice Lozenges, Licorice Chews, and Mint Licorice.
When Twizzlers were brought to market, they were a new and fun take on a familiar flavor. These were chewy and visually appealing, making them a great treat for consumers. And of course, the flavor was Licorice.
In 1902, Young & Smylie merged with two other companies forming the National Licorice Company.
The candy survived throughout the years, but didn’t really have its major takeoff until the 1960s. A major factor of this surge in popularity came with the introduction of new flavors.
1960s brought the introduction to the Strawberry Twizzler.
1970s introduced Cherry
1980s introduced Watermelon
1990s introduced Orange
2000s gave us Green Apple
