A History of Fruity Pebbles
This is a quick one folks!
When you think of Fruity Pebbles, I am sure most of us will think about the colorful cereal that quickly turned to mush when combined with milk, yet made your milk taste oh, so delicious. This cereal however was not always as popular as it is now. It was originally an underperforming cereal called Sugar Rice Krinkles cereal. But in 1971, Post secured innovative licensing rights from Hanna-Barbera to use the Flintstones characters to rebrand the cereal. Soon Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles were all the rage. And actually, This was the first brand ever to be created around a media character.
Today it is the No. 1 selling kids cereal brand with more than 1.4 billion bowls eaten annually.
